Monte de Horeb Ministries is a Christian ministry that allows North Americans to work alongside local Honduran churches in bringing glory to Jesus Christ. We consider this ministry as a “guest ministry” here in Honduras, as North Americans will strive to respect the Honduran people, churches, and culture while serving the Lord in Honduras. The main focus of everything that we do, and invite others to join us in doing, is to be a “witness” for Jesus Christ.  As Scripture states “We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20).  In keeping with this Scripture, we remain aware that we are called to serve as representatives of Jesus, while loving and respecting the Honduran people and culture.

As long-time Christian missionaries and devoted followers of Jesus, Mike and Ginger are dedicated to bringing glory to God through showing the love of Jesus to people in Honduras for more than 13 years.  Together, they enjoy serving the Lord through partnering with local Honduran churches, members of the community, and North American mission-trip teams to bring glory to God; through their partnership, they humbly show honor and respect to the Honduran culture and people, while displaying the love of Jesus during evangelism outreach, home construction projects, and school partnerships, and providing a beautiful and safe location for Honduran Pastors and Youth Groups to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

In the spring of 2013, the Lord led Mike and Ginger to a piece of property in the beautiful town of Pavana. It is 3km off of a main road, nestled below some beautiful mountains, and is a sloping property with a beautiful view facing the west. The sunsets at the Monte de Horeb ministry campus are always beautiful; Gods creation is one to behold here! The property is 36 acres, or in Honduran terms 20 manzanas.  When originally searching for land to build this ministry campus, we prayed for 3 things: A prayer rock, mountains, and an affordable price. God has provided all 3 at Monte de Horeb and has blessed us with so much more!

The local Pastors prayed together and named the property Monte de Horeb, which is centered around Deuteronomy 4:10 where the Bible says: “Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when He said to me, assemble the people before Me to hear My words so that they may learn to revere Me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”  We give God all of the praise for allowing us to be a part of HIS vision in Honduras.
